1988: Everyday Is Like Sunday by Morrissey

Composed by Stephen Morrissey and Stephen Street. Recorded by Morrissey for his debut solo album Viva Hate. The lyrics are reportedly inspired by Nevil Shute’s novel On The Beach, about a group of people waiting for nuclear devastation in Australia. The song reached No.3 in Ireland and No.9 in the UK. The video features clips from the film Carry On Abroad. The seaside town used as the location in the video was Southend-on-Sea in the UK.
